Early Spells absolutley decimaed the ranks of Tempest Eye in Turn one . The Irondrakes stood firm and held off the demigryph charge turn one .

I was very lucky with priority roles and was able to return fire and gain revenge for our early falled comrades.

A valiant charge of the steam tanks saw them slam into ranks of great swords and crossbow men . After that the game swung in my favour ending in a major win.

BATTLEPLAN : FOCAL POINTS

HIDDEN AGENDA : SLAY ACHIEVED

RESULT : MAJOR WIN

A dangerous Khorne Mortal list , with a mighty bloodthirster at it’s head. The bloodthirster did what blood thirsters do on turn one – and eat our hurricanum and a good chunk of each unit around it . An early charge forward saw the mounted Lord of Khorn burn a front field objective , putting me under pressure . The shadow Warriors had enough space however to drop in behind enemy lines to burn the backfield objectives for the win.

BATTLEPLAN : SCORCHED EARTH

HIDDEN AGENDA : SLAY ACHIEVED

RESULT :  MAJOR WIN

Easily my favourite game of the weekend – saw the forces of Tempest’s eye take on the might of the Ogor Mawtribes – specifically 4 Stonehorns with accompnying Mournfangs to taste.

After a cagey start with no action in turn one from either side , bar a quick snipe of one Maunfang – Battle commenced in earnest in turn two .

Blows were exchanged – the Stonehorns bounced round after round from the blazing cannons of the Duardin Forces. Eventually in Turn four , the stonehorns started to fall. Letting me score only my second set of points !

As with every memorable game , it came down to the priority role , The Steam tanks swarmed foward locking the remaining General in place , allowing the rest of the Duardin to sprint forward and claim the objective – making the game a draw and therefore a minor win for Tempest’s eye

BATTLEPLAN : GIFT FROM THE HEAVENS

HIDDEN AGENDA : LINE BREAKER

RESULT :  MINOR WIN

Daniel Scott

Day two saw first and second place face off on table one. A place I have never been going into day two!

Turn one began with Daniel giving me the turn which put me under pressure as I wasn’t expecting it !

Given that my army has +1 to save in turn one I was fairly confident I could take the objectives and then hold off the counter assualt .

Boy was I wrong , I failed nearly every save ( given the steam tanks had a save of two !) where I lost both objectives I held . After that the game went down hill as a combination of Daniel’s skill and my dice saw my  heroes dying in turn three , meaning no more VP for me !

A great win for The Overlords ! Looks like Tempest’s Eye would have to pay its debt after all!

BATTLEPLAN : Three Places of Power

HIDDEN AGENDA : Invade Achieved

RESULT :  MAJOR LOSS

David Allan

The final Game saw me take on the might of the triple Durthu list and it’s tricksy teleporting shenanigans.

Relocation orb is a nasty battleplan to play as it really doesn’t bring skill or interaction to the game .

The trees went up and the steam tanks carefully approached the deadly groves . The sprits of Durthu charged out and caused unimaginable damage to the waiting tanks, gaskets blew , crew scalded to death..

The fickle nature of the orb was with the duardin though , and after a brief flirtation with the centre ground it moved defiantly to friendly territory .

We had a small error on both our parts , where we hadnt allocated 3 points for going second – which after allocating these put my army in an uncatchable position .

David had a chance for the draw – but in order to do say had to give me the final turn – which I was able to capture the final place of orb with the Hurricanum counting as 20 models.

BATTLEPLAN : RELOCATION ORB

HIDDEN AGENDA : SORCEROR SUPREME ACHIEVED

RESULT :  MAJOR WIN

Hobby Room Coverage.

We were very lucky to have Ceri Robson at the tournament to broadcast all her games live to her twitch channel – The Hobby Room. Sadly I wasn’t able to get onto the stream this time , but hopefully soon!
